India - EU Strategic Dialogue on Digital India, Brussels

India’s IT Minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad's key special address kicked off the agenda at the event that brought together senior IT executives from across Europe to delve into India's lead forward as a global leader in the sector. Senior representation from the European Commission came from the likes of Mr. Andrus Ansip, European Commission Vice- President for the Digital Single Market. Arvind Gupta, National Head, Bharatiya Janata Party IT cell moderated the panel discussion on Digital India: Developing Smart Cities and Smart Villages. The issues delved into at the dialogue were the benefits arising out of the collaboration between EU and India, how India can use the EU's expertise & skills to deliver truly smart communities, low hanging opportunities in connectivity, infrastructure, data, cloud and tackling the challenges in achieving the opportunities that digitization brings.
